Description
Childs fancy dress costume. Part 1 : Fancy dress jacket. Front is embroidered with cock motif (sewn on). Back is embroidered with owl and crescent moon motif (sewn on) and is closed with 12 hooks and eyes. Inner sleeve is full length, ending in frill at cuff. Outer sleeve ends in frill below elbow. Whole garment lined including inner sleeve. Frills have alternate bands of red and blue tape sewn onto them. On label " R.W. Forsyth Ltd. School Outfitters Edinburgh and Glasgow".
Part 2 : Fancy dress breeches. White colour, leg frills have alternate bands of red and blue tape sewn on them. Waist very wide presumably originally elasticised. Closed with three button at front. Leg frills have alternative bands of red and blue tape sewn onto them. Bottom of legs has button to close.
Discovered during renovation at Callendar House.
Part 3 : Fancy dress hat (Edwardian). Cream coloured, conical shape and made of felt.
