Description
White cotton chemise. Knee-length, sleeveless and gathered slightly to neck. Neck had separate tape sewn on with feather stitch embroidery. Above the neckband is scalloped edging of borderie anglaise. Below neckband is sewn on a flounce 6.5cm deep gathered in to neckband, with a line of drawn-thread-work near lower edge and a line of embroidery (flowers and leaves mainly in satin stitch) above it. Flounce is in two separate pieces, separated by front opening. Front opening is covered by a band 13.5cm long of borderie anglaise, with a scalloped edge. Closed with two buttons at neckline, both still in place.
