Description
Woman's navy blue Civil Defence cropped jacket. Fitted at the waist it is closed by five buttons down the front (two missing) and a buckle at the waist. Cuffs are closed with a concealed button. Seam up centre back. Two pockets on the front with concealed button closures. Button down lapel on each shoulder with a black patch sewn on each with a single gold strip (rank insignia). The buttons have "CD" and a crown over it stamped onto them. Sewn on cloth badge on proper left breast pocket with the Scottish lion and King's crown Civil defence logo with "Civil defence corps" around the outside of the logo. Underneath it is a patch with "FALKIRK" on it. It is sewn very low on the pocket. On the proper right and left shoulders are badges with "HEADQUARTERS" on them. On the proper left sleeve is a patch with a cross and "FIRST AID" on it in gold. On the proper right sleeve is a laurel leaf enclosing the letter "I".
On the inside of the jacket on the proper left side is a sewn on label in white with has black writing reading "BLOUSES, WOMENS/ C.D. 24/ size 14/ HEIGHT 5' 7" TO 5' 8"/ BUST 35" TO 37"/ WAIST 27" TO 29"/ B.BLOOM, LTD./ Mi Platting, Mcr.10/ 1953" with the broad arrow symbol. In ink on the label is written "475A / L"
