Description
Woman's navy blue Civil Defence cropped jacket. Fitted at the waist it is closed by five buttons down the front, a hook and eye at the neck and a buckle at the waist. Cuffs are closed with a concealed button. Seam up centre back. Two pockets on the front with concealed button closures. Button down lapel on each shoulder held in place by black buttons with "CD" and a crown over it stamped onto them. Sewn on cloth badge on proper left breast pocket with the Scottish lion and King's crown Civil defence logo with "Civil defence corps" around the outside of the logo. Underneath it is a patch with "FALKIRK" on it. On both sleeves near the should are two patches (on each) at the top is a black patch with in gold lettering "HEADQUARTERS" below it in gold on black is "INTELLEGENCE AND OPERATIONS". On the proper right sleeve is patch with a white star outlined in navy and then red.
On the inside of the jacket on the proper left side is a sewn on label in white with has black writing reading "BLOUSES, WOMENS/ C.D. 24/ size 10/ HEIGHT 5' 5" TO 5' 6"/ BUST 34" TO 36"/ WAIST 26" TO 28"/ B.BLOOM, LTD./ Miles Platting, Mcr.10/ 1953" with the broad arrow symbol. In ink on the label is written "172 / T". Also on the inside along the back of the waistband is the no "10" in white possibly dressmakers chalk.
