Description
Navy blue Civil Defence skirt. Plain A-line skirt made from four panels sewn together with reinforced banding along waist. Closes with one button and two poppers at the back. Pocket on proper left side. Label on inside attached to pocket lining is white with black lettering and reads "SKIRTS, C.D. or N.F.S. (A.R.P. 72/ NFS)/ SIZE 20/ HEIGHT over 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10 ins/ WAIST over 32ins to 34ins/ HIPS over 42ins to 44ins/ TIR-OEN, LTD.,/ 1953" with the broad arrow symbol underneath. Stamped above this on the pocket lining is "L/ W d/ 659" with the broad arrow symbol. Yellow paper label sewn into the joint of the skirt on inside down from button. On it is printed "17865 / 23 / 6-20 / 24719 SORTING" with some pencil marks.
