The water make is a rectangle with a triangle inside it. Printed on the obverse is "£20/ TWENTY POUNDS/ No. [10//5] Falkirk [9 Augt 1813]/ The Falkirk Union Bank/ Promise to pay [Wm gentles] or the bearer/ on demand Twenty Pounds Sterlg at their/ Office here/ No. [10//5]/ By Order of the Company./ [James brown] Cashier./ Entd. pr. [Will. Horn]/ G.Paton -- Kirkwood & Son/ FALKIRK UNION BANK".
