Pound note issued by the Falkirk Union Bank. It is decorated on the obverse in black ink with an image of thistles, roses and entwined shamrocks with an image of a lady standing at a harbour with two boats in the background, a thistle plant on the bank and hills in the background. Printed on the obverse is "ONE L1./ POUND FALKIRK,/ Sterling [28 Nov.] 181[4]/ NoB. [52//929] The Falkirk Union Bank/ promise to pay [Wm Gentles] or the bearer/ on demand Twenty Shillings Sterling/ At their Office here/ NoB. [52/929]/ By order of the Company./[James Brown[ Cashier/ Entd. pr [Will Horn]". On the watermark is "FALKIRK UNION BANK" and on the revenue stamp is "FOUR PENCE".
