Description
Pound note issued by the Falkirk Union Bank. It is decorated with an image on the obverse of a floral standing with a ship and thistle in black ink, there is also an image of a thistle, rose and shamrock entwined on it. Printed circa 1814. Printed on the obverse is "ONE L1./ POUND FALKIRK/ Sterling [1 Nov.] 181[3]/ No. [51//151] The Falkirk Union Bank/ promise to pay [Wm gentles] or the bearer/ on demand Twenty Shillings Sterling/ At their office here No. [51//151]/ By order of the Company./ [James Brown] Cashier/ Entd. pr. Will Horn]".
The note is sandwiched between two glass plates together with 1978-137-28.
