Copper alloy printing plate for a one guinea note from the Falkirk New Bank. Half tone etching. Circa 1817. Decorated with a small picture of two women one standing, one seated with an anchor in the foreground and bale of hay in the background and border of thistles entwined". Engraved on the obverse of A: "A/L11 STERG NAD ONE GUINEA FALKIRK KIRKWOOD FEULPFIT NO THE FALKIRK NEW BANK 18 PROMISE TO PAY TO OR BEARER ON DEMAND L11 ONE POUND ONE SHILLING STR AT THEIR OFFICE HERE BY THE ORDER OF THE COMPANY NAO CASHIER ENTD. PR THE FALKIRK NEW BANK ". On on B is: " B/L11 STERG NAD ONE GUINEA FALKIRK KIRKWOOD FEULPFIT NO THE FALKIRK NEW BANK 18 PROMISE TO PAY TO OR BEARER ON DEMAND L11 ONE POUND ONE SHILLING STR AT THEIR OFFICE HERE BY THE ORDER OF THE COMPANY NAO CASHIER ENTD.
