Description
Silver badge with red letters showing a crown over a square in which is the inscription "WVS Civil Defence". (WVS = Women's Voluntary Services). In Feb 1939 the WVS became the Women's Voluntary Service for Civil Defence and a new badge (this one) was issued.
The Women’s Voluntary Services (WVS) was established in 1938 and they acted as a support for the Air Raid Precaution Services.
