Description
Man's blue pinstripe suit, three piece.
1) Blazer single breasted, 3 buttons, black plastic buttonholes 10-01.5cm apart. One breast pocket and two waist pockets. Darts down rib cage, one on each side of the jacket at front 20cm long and 10cm from side seam. Two inside pockets at different heights. Mixture of hand and machine stitching with black thread, black lining in torso and blue and red stripped lining in sleeves. Four buttons at cuffs. "J G Russell Falkirk" on label.
2) Waistcoat: darts down ribs 18cm long, top pocket to hem 8-10cm from side seam. 2 Chest and 2 waist pockets. White, blue and red stripped lining, back is black with band approximately 3cm wide and stitched into back in 2 places, fastens with buckle (black metal imprint reads " paris" mix of machine and hand sewing in black thread with 6 buttons.
3) Trousers: Turn ups 4.8cm wide. Button fly with 5 plastic buttons. Two pleats on each leg and two side pockets. No distinct waistband at back, line of machine stitching 4.5cm from top. Evidence of front and back creases, cuff and creases on trousers indicate turn of the 20th century. Darts at back one on each leg. Machine and hand stitched, with cotton cream lining at top and for pockets. "J G Russell Falkirk" on larger buttons.
