stencil

Description
Rectangular copper stencil for ROSEBANK distillery/bond. This copper stencil was made for the distillery. The stencil was used to paint, or burn, Rosebank's name onto their whisky barrels. Barrels for the distillery were prepared and repaired at Sinclair's Cooperage in Union Road. They also did much work for the tar distillery at Lime Wharf and it was important not to get the barrels mixed up.
