Oval disc with "Great Western Cooking Depot" stamped on the obverse. The 6 is probably the value - 6 pence.
The Great Western Cooking Depot was at 68 Trongate Glasgow and was opened for the " working classes". It was one of several communal canteens set up across the city in the 1860s to help feed people at a low cost.
