Description
Lapel badge with the Tudor (King's) crown with inscription "A.R.P" Air Raid Precaution. JC and C on back dates this badge to 1938 JC was Sir John Herbert McCutcheon Craig who was Deputy Master and Controller of the Royal Mint from 1938 and C is the year.

The silver ARP badge was designed by Eric Gill a sculptor from a design submitted in 1936 and issuing began in 1937.
