Administrative History
Evelyn Margaret Dewar (1913-1990) was a violinist from Larbert. She studied at the Royal College of Music, London, and with Ottakar Sevcik in Prague, returning to Larbert in 1938 when Czechoslovakia was invaded. She composed songs, some of which were published. Her professional career ceased during the Second World War. Evelyn's mother was also musical and the Dewar family performed locally. Evelyn attended St Margaret's School, Polmont.
The family business was a Ladies' and Children's Outfitter, Wilson's Buildings, Stenhousemuir.
