Description
Dominion of Canada medal. Bronze disc shaped medal in original case. The obverse bears the inscription "PRESENTED/ BY THE/ CANADIAN/ GOVERNMENT/ 1900" within a maple leaf wreath. The reverse has a complex coat-of-arms under a crown with the following inscription in a circular border "SCHOOL COMPETITION 1900. SUBJECT "THE DOMINION OF CANADA"". The ribbon is buff coloured with blue, white and red central stripes. A small presentation card in the case states that it was presented by Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal, High Commissioner of Canada. The card is in the object files.
