The tall building is Oddfellows Hall on the corner with Western Avenue. The Loyal Sir John de Graeme Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows was formed in 1841 and the building was erected in 1883. The Odd Fellows was a charitable mutual support organisation of some antiquity.
