vase

Maker
Dunmore Pottery
Description
Bulbous vase with small cylindrical neck and rim and two opposing loop handles. The handles sit on the shoulder and join a little below half way up the neck. The neck and handles have red-mauve and cream glaze. The body has a brown glaze over a golden coloured glaze. Four leaves on the sides show this under glaze and were made using the vanished leaf technique. The leaves under the handles are small palmate ones, whilst the other two are large with straggly ends. There is much wear around the vase where it reaches its greatest circumference.
