Description
Disc-shaped medallion surmounted by a curling stone and crossed brooms, with a suspension loop above. The obverse reads "STIRLINGSHIRE PROVINCE/ Second Prize/ WON BY/ THE CASTLECARY CASTLE/ CURLING CLUB/ at Larbert/ JANY 1895". The reverse reads "PRESENTED/ To/ J.G.Leadbetter/ AS THE/ CLUB'S REPRESENTATIVE MEMBER".
On 11 January 1895 22 clubs of Stirlingshire Province of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club with 3 rinks each played for 3 ½ hours on
Larbert Loch on good ice. Alva won by being 28 shots up overall,
Castlecary were second with 26 and Sauchie & Bannockburn were
third with 23.
