Description
Brass cylindrical measure with official stamps (eg. Portcullis, crown, chequerboards) and maker's name stamped on outside. Stamped on the exterior is "IMPERIAL PECK BURGH OF FALKIRK 1835" " PONTIFEX SONS AND WOOD LONDON 598". Stamped on the base is "FALKIRK BURGH A.C. and S." "A.COCHRAN and SON F.B.".Markings appear on the exterior of the measure with the following dates appearing over the portcullises 1883, 188, 1903, 1913, 1923, 1933 and 1943.
