Description
View of an engine (0-6-0 wheel configuration) pulling a train of eight carriages. The engine displays a 'head code' by means of semaphore arms, which are in the vertical position. This indicated the train's destination to other railwaymen, allowing signalmen, for example, to know which train was passing their box. The railway sleepers are wooden.
