Falkirk District Children's Theatre was founded in the 1970s by Falkirk Town Council and continued by Falkirk District Council and Falkirk Council. The Youth Theatre was set up shortly afterwards. Both organisations exist to give local children and young people opportunities in the performing arts by producing annual musical plays and pantomimes and other performance. Performances have been shown on Scottish Television and performers have taken part in Royal Variety Performances
