Object detail

Administrative History
The Redding Pit Disaster Relief Fund was set up by the Provost of Falkirk and the proprietor of the Falkirk Herald a few days after the Pit 23 of Redding Colliery was flooded in September 1923. The fund supported the survivors of the flood, some of whom were trapped in the mine for up to nine days, and supported the dependants of the men who died. The fund was administered by the Burgh Chamberlain and was wound up in 1966
