Administrative History
Formed in 1862 as the Redding Colliery Co-operative Society, it was one of the largest co-operative societies in central Scotland until it amalgamated with the Falkirk United Co-operative Society in1968. The profits made were distributed to members as a dividend - the "divi" being in proportion to the amount each member spent in the various stores.
