Subject notes
This Belgian kiln, designed by John Stein, was the longest in the world at over 300 metres. A firezone was started at one end every two weeks, and moved forward one chamber a day, each taking 8 weeks to reach the end. The kiln was fired from both sides giving a uniform heat.
