Description
A man in short jacket, trousers and round cap stands holding a pitch fork with three tines. Two women are in ankle length skirts. One wears an apron and the other a mutch. Behind them is a single storey stone-built cottage with slate roof. The yard is partly cobbled and there is a stone water trough.

The farm was situated about 100m east of Denny Cross. The house is either that of a farm servant attached to a farm or the farm is a small-holding. Most farmhouses were more substantial, often of two storeys.
