Description
Italian Star- a six pointed star of yellow copper zinc alloy. The obverse has a central design of the Royal Cypher of King George VI surmounted by a crown. Around the cypher is a circlet containing the words 'The Italian Star'. The reverse is plain. The ribbon is white, green and red, reflecting the Italian flag. A separate bar for 5 medals is provided, as also an extra length of ribbon.

The Italian Star was awarded for operational service in Sicily or Italy between 11 July 1943 and 8 May 1945. Those who served in Yugoslavia, Greece, Corsica or Sardinia between certain other dates also qualify.
