Subject notes
The aqueduct has 12 arches, is more than 230 metres long and carries the canal 24 metres above the river. In the British Isles, only one in Wales is larger. The use of a lightweight iron trough, rather than stone, for the water channel, allowed the use of hollow and slender columns.
