Five pound note of the Falkirk Union Bank. White and black with an oval vignette on the reverse depicting a standing female facing sailing ships, with flowers to left, hills behind. Entwined shamrock, thistle and rose form the border. The obverse is printed:"FIVE Pounds/ FALKIRK [24 May/1813]/ No.[63//444]/ The Falkirk Union Bank/ Promise to pay [Wm.Gentles] or/ The Bearer On demand Five Pounds/ At their Office here No.[63/444]/ By Order of the Company/ [James Brown] Cashier/ Entd.Pr [Will.Horn]/ Falkirk UNION Bank".
