Description
Tall measuring stick for determining the height of people in police custody. It has a solid wood plinth for the people to stand on, with a vertical square shaft at on end. The shaft is graduated in inches with the feet marked in Roman numerals. A horizontal bean slides along this shaft and is held in place by a two-way wedge. This is evidently a replacement for a wooden screw that went through the side of the beam.
