 Description
Plastic model mounted on a table. This was used to aid design work, the construction workers, and train BP operative staff before the plant was completed and opened in 1993. It shows the complex of pipework, allowing the operatives to memorise the location of valves and so forth.
Only two out of the total of over thirty tables were acquired by the Museum (Base 17 & 29 including the compressor house, scale 1:33.33) due to shortage of space, and possible security implications.
The plant started production in May 1993 and was opened by Princess Anne in June.
