Description
Medal made to commemorate the coronation of George V in 1911. The obverse contains the busts of King George V and Queen Mary facing left. Around the edge is "KING GEORGE V QUEEN MARY" and at the bottom "Rd 571879". The reserve shows the Burgh coat-of-arm. From the inside out it reads "Touch Ane Touch A/ Better Meddle Wi The Deil Than The Bairns O Falkirk" "THE BURGH OF FALKIRK" and the text "TO COMMEMORATE THE CORONATION/JUNE 2ND 1911/THE BURGH OF FALKIRK".
These medals were issues to every child in Falkirk schools.
