money box

Maker
Taylor, Law & Co Ltd
Description
Oval money box for the Falkirk & Counties Savings Bank. Round hole for notes and a slot for coins. Image of a portcullis between towers.
This design was popular in the 20s/30s with lots of banks using the same design and maker, so it is probably from then. The banks held the keys for them and you had to bring it in to get them emptied hence you sometimes see them called home safes
