Subject notes
SS Yorkshire was a steel screw steamer of 1305 tons built by the Grangemouth Dockyard Co and launched in 1901 for the Erimus Steam Ship Co Ltd. For most of the 19th century, steamships were also equipped with sails but by 1900 that policy had been abandoned.
