Description
Gold coloured tin with a hinged lid. The lid is embossed with a design featuring the bust of Queen Mary in the centre, flags to either side, a battleship below and a sword and scabbard above.
These tins were issued to troops serving in France in the First World War during Christmas 1914. They usually contained cigarettes, writing paper and a pencil.
