Description
Commemorative medal issued by Falkirk Burgh School Board for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
It is in the form of a silver coloured metal Maltese cross with a gold coloured Royal Coat of Arm attached at the top of the cross. The arms of the cross (clockwise from top) show Australia, Cape Colony (British colony from 1875-1910, now part of South Africa) , Canada, New Zealand and their heraldic symbols. On the back is "FALKIRK/ BURGH/ SCHOOL BOARD/ PRESENTED/ TO THE SCHOOL CHILDREN/ A MEMORIAL OF/THE QUEEN'S/ DIAMOND/ JUBILEE/ 1897"
