Description
Nine caulking mallets.
Part 1) Wooden caulking mallet head with two rivets and reinforcing bands at the end of very different sides. One is held tight by cloth. Stamped on it is "MATHIESON" and an "M" had been scored into it on the other side.
Part 2) wooden caulking mallet that appears to have never been used, end reinforcing band not fully fitted and come past the timber. Reinforced rivets in place.
Part 3) Pale wooden caulking mallet head with reinforced bands at ends and reinforcing rivets. Traces of cloth at both ends which was used to tighten end bands.
Part 4) Pale wooden caulking mallet head with reinforced bands at the end. Both bands have fibres coming out from under them. Unusual as no holes or no reinforcing rivets. Letter "S" on timber in pencil. Not clear if this is a caulking mallet at all.
Part 5) Dark wooden caulking mallet with bands at ends and reinforcing bolts. Evidence of textile padding under both bands. * type symbol carved between rivets on one side.
Part 6) Pale wooden caulking mallet with one reinforced steel band and reinforcing rivets. Appears unused and band is no on flush.
Part 7) Dark wooden caulking mallet with two reinforcing bands and rivets. holes have been hand cut. Some red paint on end of steel band on one side.
Part 8) Wooden caulking mallet with four reinforcing bands. Timber broken near handle hole.
Part 9)
Part 10) Assorted handles, some do not appear to be mallet handles other possibly. One has something illegible stamped on it.
