Brass cylindrical measure with official stamps (eg. portcullis, crown, chequerboards) and maker's name stamped on outside. The following dates appear above the portcullises, 1883, 188, 1903 1913, 1933 and 1943. Stamped on the exterior is "IMPERIAL HALF BUSHEL BURGH OF FALKIRK 1835" " PONTIFEX SONS AND WOOD LONDON 598". Stamped on the base is "FALKIRK BURGH A.C. and S." "A. COCHRAN and SON F.B.".
