bodice; woman's

Production date
Circa 1910
Description
Black long sleve cotton corded item, cut like a bodice but seems to have been altered it possibly was a longer jacket that has been cut shorter for a child as the new "hem" is very rough and uneven and doesn't match the rest of the item, the back of the jacket also looks cut off in terms of the structure of the piece (these items were dress up clothes). Item closes at the front with two hooks and thread eyes. There is a popper as well but it seems to be in the wrong places as it pulls the items in a strange shape, not clear if one half of the popper was in another location or both are a bad later addition. Inside the opening is a second layer of stain which matches the lining so this was probably original. It is closed over with poppers. There are also two poppers above the hem which suggest it was attached to something but these are only one one side and are a later addition. The items has a decoration on the cuff and a button hole, no button evident. It also has a sailors collar with lace and a satin trim.
