Subject notes
Harvesting is more mechanised today. The crop is probably hay for fodder. In the distance are a number of Nissan huts. These probably date from the recently ended war and were quickly-built of corrugated iron. The Great Glen was created by a geological fault. The canal links the three inland lochs which lie in the glen to the sealochs at either end. Ben Nevis rises steeply in the distance, to the east (left) of Glen Nevis.
