Subject notes
Near the house a new car is parked. In the distance is the plain church building and to the far right the large building on its own is the Gairloch Hotel. The harvesting of hay for fodder has started as indicated by the haystacks. The flat land on which the scattered settlement lies is a raised beach, cut by the sea when the water level was about 8 metres higher than it is now.
