Subject notes
Dalness House is at the junction of two passes, Lairig Eilde and Lairig Gartain. Dalness Estate is now in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. The road leads from Glencoe down to the head of Loch Etive where it terminates at a ruined pier. For a while, there was a steamer service from Oban which started in 1847. There was also a track down the east shore to Taynuilt.
