Text on negative envelope reads 'Glen Stockdale, Appin. High up in Glen looking back on Loch Laich & Loch Linnhe with Lismore Island & mountains of Morven in distance'. View down a glen to the sea. The hill land provides rough pasture. There are sheep on the lower slopes and down near the shore haystacks indicate a crop has been harvested. Woodland, mainly broad-leaved, is restricted to the steep sides of a burn and to field boundaries.
