Subject notes
Castle Stalker dates from circa 1450 and was built by the Stewarts of Appin. The castle lost its roof after the owners moved to a new house on the mainland in circa 1800. In the 1970s it was re-roofed and became a home once more. The nets may have been used for the inshore fishing of salmon. Inshore fishing for fish has given way to fishing for prawns, lobsters etc.
