Subject notes
The farm lies off the A944, north of Mossat. The present landscape of the north-east was created largely in the late 18th century with the creation of large farms with large fields. The area was quick to change technology in the late 18th century. Draught horses replaced oxen and new ploughs were introduced. The two-handed scythe replaced the hyeuk or sickle and the threshing mill replaced manual labour.
