One pound note of the Falkirk Union Bank. White and black with a red claim over the top. Oval vignette of a standing female figure with two sailing ships and thistles. A large thistle runs down the left border.
The obverse is printed: One Li./ POUND FALKIRK/ Sterling [28 Nov.]181[4]/ No.[52//328] The Falkirk Union Bank/ promise to pay [Wm gentles] or the bearer/ on demand Twenty Shillings Sterling,/ At their Office here/ No.[52//328]/ By order of the Company./ [James Brown] Cashier/ Entd.Pr.[Will.Horn]/ R. Kirkwood Script".
