Subject notes
Whitehills is a small fishing village on a sandy and rocky bay between two headlands 3 kilometers west of Banff. The coast to the west is rocky. The north-east coast has a succession of towns and villages based on fishing. Over the years the boats have come to be based on a few of the larger harbours. This is partly because of better facilities but also due to the designation of only certain ports for landing fish.
