Text on negative envelope reads 'Kyle of Lochalsh. Passengers disembarking @ Skye Ferry Boat "Lochalsh"'. The bus about to disembark is owned by Ribble and is taking English tourists on a tour of Scotland. A crew member (the bowrope) is watching, as passengers mill about. The road sign states that 'Locomotives, Motor Tractors, Heavy Motor Cars, and Motor Cars with seats for more than 15 persons Prohibited'. The route was the main access to Skye and was served by turntable ferries, such as the 'Lochalsh', which could carry up to four cars.
