figurine; pig

Description
Figurine of a pig with pale green glaze, it has erect ears and small holes for the eyes. The lines for the junctions of the moulds are prominent - one long one about half way up the body and another arching over the back a little behind the ears. The long curling tail lies flat against the rump and terminates in a sprig. The back legs are lower than the front legs suggesting that the pig is either about to lie down or get up. The rear right leg is vestigial. All legs slant to the front. The underside is not glazed and shows as cream coloured clay, which contains a fingerprint. Prominent DUNMORE stamp on the base - type 1 (even line).
The front right leg is chipped at the end.
