Subject notes
The cars just off the road are a new Ford, an older Ford, unknown, a new Morris Minor and a Standard. They have Glasgow and Renfrew registration letters. The passengers are sitting close to their vehicles. With the growth of car ownership in the late 1950s it became fashionable to 'go for a run' in the car. People took picnics with them and sometimes deckchairs and folding tables which they often set up beside their car, just off the road.
